NEW TECHNOLOGY
FDS stands for FAAC Digital Signature, a new and innovative radio protocol based on frequency modulation with optimal range and battery life performance.
The radio transmission is protected by an AES-128 symmetric encryption algorithm with a 128-bit key, and the authenticity of the transmitters is verified by a FAAC certificate chain.
BI-DIRECTIONAL COMMUNICATION
Bi-Directional capabilities allows the FDS transmitter achieve the maximum and most efficient range possible via every press of the transmitter button.
The transmitter will automatically select the most efficient band to use (433MHz or 868MHz) with no delay extending the TX range.
This is possible due to the real time monitored and secure handshake between the transmitter and receiver on both bands which also allows for feedback from the automation concerning; command received confirmation and the current status of the automation (closed/open)
NEW DESIGN
The FDS transmitters have a distinctive design with a revised, more modern aesthetic and can be protected with optional coloured cases. The design of the shape is tailored to enhance ergonomics, while the product’s finish imparts a distinctive quality.
The new design is also Installer and end user friendly with no screwdrivers required to open the transmitter to replace the battery.
PROTECTION AGAINST CLONING
The radio range uses an advanced security scheme, enhanced by Secure Vault ™ (PSA ™ Level 3 certificate) and TrustZone® technologies, to provide maximum protection against cloning.
The radio transmission is protected by an AES 128 symmetric encryption algorithm with a 128 bit key, and the authenticity of the transmitters is verified by a FAAC custom X.509 certificate chain.
EVEN GREENER
New cardboard packaging has been introduced to minimize the use of plastic packaging. Full instructions and video tutorials will only be available in digital format.
To support our installers, instructions and video tutorials can be downloaded online by scanning the QR code on the product’s safety instructions.
We are gearing up to launch our new cloud based automation management platform - FAAC SIMPLY CONNECT - in the next few months, FDS and Simply Connect combined will offer a technological convergence for a unique user experience.
Among the many cool and convenient features the new cloud platform will offer Installers, when combined with FAAC FDS radio system, the possibilities are further increased with many unique combined features available.
The FDS transmitter range inherently adopts an advanced security scheme enhanced by Secure Vault™ (PSA™ Level 3 certified) and TrustZone®. The integration with Simply Connect further increases the protection against cloning thanks to the verification of the authenticity of the ID of each transmitter.
- Add a single transmitter or a batch enrol a box of transmitters to a smart automation site.
- Associate or change the user name of each transmitter and assign operating time bands.
- Temporarily enable or disable, erase or replace a transmitter.
- Assign time bands to each channel of the FDS transmitter.
Thanks to the transmitter archive, many options will be available such as search transmitter by user name or by matrix code to help you manage your sites and transmitters effectively.
Integration with Simply Connect guarantees an always updated list of transmitters present on each automation. No longer the need to copy / download files from USB drives! If the automation’s control board needs replacing, the record of the transmitters can be restored from an archive on Simply Connect.
