Phishing, Spoof, Hacked, all these terms can make a business owner blood run cold. It seems every day there's some sort of scam on the rise designed to part you and your money from one another. We're seeing more attempts and wanted to ensure you have the info not to get caught out.
The digital threat landscape has shifted. We are no longer just looking for "bad grammar" or "suspicious links" as a way to say what's real and what's fake.
We are navigating an era where AI-driven deception and identity-first attacks are becoming the norm. Whether you are managing industrial security systems in Dublin or simply checking your personal emails in Sligo, the rules for staying safe online have evolved.
We recently observed a sophisticated "long-game" phishing attempt involving a client whose email account was compromised and monitored without their knowledge.
After harvesting data, hackers issued fraudulent payment requests appearing to come from multiple suppliers, including NAL.
Thanks to the vigilance of the client’s Accounts Team, a significant financial loss was averted. By CC’ing our genuine accounts department on their reply, they allowed our team to intervene immediately and confirm the fraud.
We are seeing a daily increase in scammers impersonating trusted organisations like Revenue, An Post, and DPD to solicit sensitive information or funds.
We urge you to remain vigilant: if any communication from NAL or FAAC seems unusual or suspicious, please call our team directly to verify it.
Remember our bank details for your payments are on each invoice and we wont change them without telling you by Phone and a follow up email. Do not rely on email alone—a quick phone call is your best defence against being caught out.
